The Wilson Hudson Turner and Sarah Elizabeth Turner Scholarship was established in 2000 to assist students from southeast Alabama pursuing a Doctor of Medicine degree. The scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate student from Houston, Dale, Geneva and Henry counties in Alabama. Selection is based on academics, need, character and promise of success in the field of medicine. The amount of each scholarship is based on the amount of funds available for distribution that year. Awards for recipients choosing to attend out of state or private schools will equal the average of the University of Alabama Birmingham Medical School and The University of South Alabama College of Medicine.
